About Us

In the summer of 2009 I started a small political blog. I really only had one goal in mind: I wanted to know more about the candidates running for mayor in my city. The local media was covering the race a little bit, but not enough for me to have a clear picture of who the candidates really were. So I started a blog, and started interviewing the candidates.

It did not take long for other communities to take notice of the work I was doing, and to ask me to help spread the word about the elections in their areas too.

We have since expanded to this great new website: OurLocalLeaders.com. And we are preparing to cover hundreds of cities and towns this year. We are starting with the cities and towns in Utah, but we always love to hear from people who want us to cover the races in their areas wherever they may be.

At OurLocalLeaders.com we have three fundamental beliefs:

1. Our governments function best when the people get involved.
2. Our governments function best when people have accurate, and non-biased information
   about the government and the people who are involved in it.
3. People are more likely to vote or get involved when they have good sources of information.

We hope you will find the information we provide interesting and relevant. More importantly our goal is to get you the information that you need to participate in the political process as an informed voter or as a candidate.
